Zoning Hearing Board

The Zoning Hearing Board is comprised of three members appointed by the Board of Commissioners serving a three year term. The Board reviews and decides on all variance and special exception applications to assure that health, safety and welfare is not adversely impacted within the community. The Zoning Hearing Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Building.

In accordance with Section 908(7) of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC), a stenographic record is required for zoning hearings. Therefore, the Township is not able to make meeting minutes available on the website. Click here to view the Zoning Hearing Board rules.

Timely citizen comments which are accepted by the Zoning Hearing Board by way of letter or email on a pending zoning application/appeal/case do not, alone, qualify a person for party status in a given case. A citizen must appear at the particular hearing, articulate on the record that they seek party status and complete and submit an entry of appearance form which may be obtained from the Zoning Officer.
