Units & Organization

The Lower Moreland Township Police Department is comprised of twenty-six sworn police officers and five civilian employees.

Patrol Division
The patrol division is comprised of twenty officers, including four supervisors. Patrol officers are organized into four squads and provide police protection to the citizens of Lower Moreland twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year. The patrol division is responsible for emergency response to 9-1-1 calls, traffic enforcement, accident investigation and uniformed patrol duties.

Detective Division
The detective division is responsible for criminal investigation, as well as collecting, processing and managing all physical and electronic evidence.

Traffic Safety Unit
The traffic safety unit conducts traffic enforcement and education details, performs advanced accident investigation and reconstruction, and performs traffic studies in response to traffic complaints and concerns.

Administrative Division
The administrative division consists of the Chief of Police and Lieutenant. In addition to the command and control of police operations, the administrative division is responsible for the day-to-day management of the police department.

Civilian Support Personnel
The sworn officers of the Lower Moreland Township Police Department are assisted by five full-time and seven part-time civilian employees. Civilian personnel are responsible for records management, evidence management, training and manning school crossing posts, as well as general clerical and administrative functions.
