Montgomery County’s Office of Public Health collects and tests mosquitos throughout the County in various public facilities like parks. Lower Moreland partners with the Office each year to share facilities and improve their proximity to testing locations in the Township. They also provide numerous recommendations for how to protect yourself and prevent proliferation of mosquitos on your own properties on their website.
A recent test did find a mosquito positive for West Nile Virus in Ridgway Park. We will provide additional information if the County determines that mosquito control/spraying is deemed necessary. Preventative measures are encouraged any time you and your family are outside, whether that be in your yard or in a Township park.
