Boards & Commissions

The Board of Commissioners

The Board is comprised of 6 members elected from each ward in the Township. They are elected for a four year staggered term. The Board meets for their Work Session on the Tuesday of the week preceeding the third Wednesday of each month and their Business Meeting is on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Building located at 640 Red Lion Road, Huntingdon Valley. All meetings are open to the public.

Township Authority

The Township Authority is comprised of five members appointed by the Board of Commissioners serving a five year term. The Authority oversees the construction, operation and maintenance of the sewer system within the Township. The Authority meets quarterly on the first Wednesday of January, April, July and October at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Building.

Zoning Hearing Board

The Zoning Hearing Board is comprised of three members appointed by the Board of Commissioners serving a three term. The Board reviews applications to assure the health, safety and welfare is not adversely impacted within the community. The Zoning Hearing Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Building.

The Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is comprised of nine members appointed by the Board of Commissioners serving a four year term. They are responsible to review all subdivision and land development applications and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. The Planning Commission meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Building.

Historical Architectural Review Board

The HARB Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the Board of Commissioners serving four year terms. This is an advisory Board that reviews all applications that affect our Historical District. They make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. The HARB Board meets the first Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Building.
